Thornhill Community Centre

Come out during the above times for a drop-in public open house. Residents will have a chance to speak about and review the draft OCP. Regional District Planners will be there to facilitate discussion and collect community feedback. Your feedback is important!

Thornhill's Official Community Plan (OCP), when completed, will be the over-arching policy document that serves as a guide for elected officials and administration when making a wide range of decisions. The OCP represents the community's shared 5 to 20 year vision.

Next Steps

An initial draft of the Thornhill OCP is now complete. Click here to view the draft OCP.

It is expected that the Regional District Board will have a first reading of the Official Community Plan in Summer 2017. If proceeding, a second reading will be held prior to a public hearing. The public hearing provides further public consultation on the Official Community Plan. Once the public hearing is complete, the Board will determine if the OCP needs to be revised and brought back to the public for an additional hearing or if the OCP can proceed to third reading and adoption. Once the public hearing (and additional hearings, if needed) are complete, public comment cannot be received on the OCP.

If you wish to submit comment on the Draft OCP prior to the public hearing, please do so in writing. Comments can be submitted in person at the Regional District Office or via email to one of our Planners (contact at bottom of page).

Check back to this page for updates including public hearing date(s). Find us on Facebook by searching ‘Thornhill OCP’. Regional District Planners are also available via telephone, in person at the Regional District Office or by email between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.

A community survey was created in order to gain input from residents during the OCP process. The survey has now closed, thank-you for your valuable input!
