With over 26 resident and visiting specialists, health care is close to home for our residents. Construction of a new, state of the art hospital in Terrace, will include a trauma center. Oncology, Dialysis and MRI services are currently in place in Terrace. Kitimat has a modern hospital and our other smaller municipalities all have health care centers with physicians to provide basic and follow-up care.

University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) has specialized satellite campuses and facilities throughout the region. Coast Mountain College (formerly Northwest Community College) offers a different selection of learning opportunities, including many trade options.

Families can expect a mix of public and private education systems, including full French immersion, depending on the community you settle in.

Northwest Regional Airport Terrace is a modern, newly renovated and expanded airport offering several flights a day for personal and business travel along with timely deliveries from around the world.

High Speed Internet is becoming standard throughout our region and advocacy work underway to ensure broadband and cellular service is available to all residents and businesses.

The Port of Stewart is the most northerly ice-free port providing valuable service to business and industry by being one day closer to Asian markets.

The Kitimat marina provides location to launch and store your boat for quick access to ocean adventures. Multiple small boat launches are available to access the river throughout the region.
