Thornhill Transfer Station

GENERAL INFORMATION

Residents are welcome to use the Thornhill Transfer Station if they miss their weekly Curbside Collection service in Terrace and area, have bulky items or larger loads of refuse, organics or other materials they need to dispose of.

All visitors will be required to “scale in”, deposit their materials and “scale out” with tipping fees in effect.
A minimum charge of $10 applies and covers up to 200 lbs. / 90 kgs. of material.

Materials permitted for disposal at the Transfer Station include garbage, metal, yard and garden waste, clean wood, and demolition materials.

Materials not permitted include paper and cardboard, Extended Producer Responsibility program and take back products,  such as tires, car batteries, beverage containers, paints, used oil, outdoor power equipment and much more. Over 200 common household and yard wastes can be taken back at local depots.

NO CASH ACCEPTED – CREDIT OR DEBIT ONLY

Forceman Ridge Waste Management Facility

Located at 3112 Highway 37

COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL USERS ONLY - NOT OPEN TO PUBLIC

This engineered landfill, located between Terrace and Kitimat on Highway 37 includes an engineered and composite-lined landfill, a state-of-the-art compost facility, septage facility and a five--step leachate treatment system.

General refuse and loads less than 5 cubic meters (excluding asbestos and soil) from commercial or industrial users can go to the Thornhill Transfer Station during commercial hours. 

Loads greater than 5 cubic meters require a Controlled Waste Application and a scheduled disposal time. Please contact the Solid Waste Services Coordinator  at  [email protected].

To use the Terrace Area Waste Management Facilities, your company will need to complete a Credit Application. Once approved and processed, you'll be supplied with a facility access card.

Industrial customers can also apply for accounts and submit controlled waste applications using the same forms as commercial customers. There is a separate fee schedule for Industrial customers.

Rosswood Landfill

Located at 4648 Kalum Lake Road, Rosswood, BC

HOURS OF OPERATION 

Open Saturday and Sunday (closed Monday to Friday)

12:00 pm to 5:00 pm only

Also closed on holidays, including New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Rosswood Landfill is intended to receive waste specifically from the residents of the Rosswood Community.
  
The site offers waste segregation areas for tires, clean lumber, metals and appliances.

Please take the time to segregate your waste materials!

Hazelton Waste Management Facility

Located at 82 Birch Rd, New Hazelton, BC

HOURS OF OPERATION:  

Open Thursday to Monday

No tipping fees.

Accepted materials include; garbage, metal (including large appliances and propane tanks), off-rim tires, yard and garden waste, clean wood, and demolition materials.

Materials not accepted include recyclable packaging and paper, household electronics, car batteries, beverage containers, paints, and used oil.

Kitwanga Transfer Station

Kitwanga Transfer Station receives garbage intended for transfer to the Hazelton Waste Management Facility. The site includes opportunities for recyclables diversion.

COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL USERS -Loads up to 30 cubic meters (excluding asbestos and soil) are accepted at the Kitwanga Transfer Station during regular operating hours. Loads greater than 5 cubic meters require a Controlled Waste Application.

            Saturday 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm 
(closed Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday)

Materials accepted at the facility include garbage, metal, yard and garden waste, clean wood, and demolition materials.

This facility also accepts a wide range of recyclable materials.

Iskut Landfill

Located 2 km north of Iskut,  B.C. off Hwy. 37

Open Friday and Saturday - (closed Sunday to Thursday)
12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
