Thornhill Community Centre

Renovated in 2018, the Thornhill Community Centre (TCC) offers a flexible venue for events such as weddings, concerts, community meetings and other social or recreational purposes. Features include:

  • 300 Person Capacity
  • Stage
  • Bar Area
  • Large Commercial Kitchen
  • Free Parking
  • Handicap accessible facility and washroom

TCC Fees & Charges

All renters are required to obtain insurance.  An insurance policy can purchased here, or through your local insurance provider.

TCC is also home to The Terrace Peaks Gymnastics Club and Little Adventure Preschool who can be reached at 250-638-7945.

 

Thornhill Agricultural Grounds

Equipped with outdoor and indoor arenas, stables and large fields, the Thornhill Agricultural Grounds (TAG) are used as a facility to host large public events.

Upper Skeena Recreation Centre

Upper Skeena Recreation CentreThe Upper Skeena Recreation Centre (USRC) is located on the unceded traditional Gitxsan Laxyip in Hazelton and provides a diverse range of recreation and cultural activities for those of all ages. The USRC was completed in 2019 and is owned by the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine. For more information on the USRC please visit their website. The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine has an advisory committee for the USRC that meets quarterly. Quarterly newsletters are published to keep everyone appraised of ongoing activities.

This multi-purpose facility is located at 2755 Highway 62.  

The energy efficient facility offers over 5000 m2 of space including:

  •  an NHL-sized ice surface
  • fitness room
  • a multi-purpose gym equipped for a variety of sporting events
  • meeting spaces to enable community programming, meetings and social gatherings

Terrace Sportsplex and Aquatic Centre

The Terrace Sportsplex is a large community facility with two ice arenas and room rentals.

Regional Parks and Tot Lots

Aspen Tot Lot

This new park has a children's play area, bike rack, and a picnic table.

Penner Tot Lot

A great place for a family picnic. This park has play structures designed for children ages 18 months to 5 years old, and 5 to 12 years.

Thornhill Landing

Thornhill Landing Park commemorates Thomas Job Thornhill, one of the first settlers in the Skeena Valley (circa 1892). Thornhill Landing Park is located on the first homestead site of Thomas Thornhill and his wife, Eliza Wright.

Located along Queensway Drive this park has access to the Skeena River and benches to enjoy the view.

Great place to play tennis or roller-hockey. There are two tennis courts and a roller-hockey pitch.
