Customers of the Thornhill, North Terrace and Copperside Estates water systems, please note that the dates for water main flushing have been set. RDKS water systems are flushed in the spring every year.
The flushing dates are:
- Upper and Lower Thornhill: April 7 to 18
- Copperside Estates: April 21 to 23
- North Terrace: April 21 to 23
Why does this happen?
Flushing water systems is important because it removes any sediment that might be in the water mains, and it helps ensure the best possible water quality is maintained.
What does this mean for my water?
During this procedure, your water pressure may fluctuate and the water might appear coloured or cloudy. If you do notice this, run your water until it clears. Also, to help the flushing process, crews will add a small dose of chlorine to the system reservoir. There may be residual chlorine for the duration of the flushing process, but it does not affect water safety.
Thank you for your patience!
