Street lights help to make our roads safer for traffic and pedestrians by illuminating road hazards.

Our Works and Services Department observe and pass along reports to BC Hydro on streetlights that are mounted on 'wooden poles'  in Greater Thornhill, Copper Estates, South Hazelton and Moricetown, through the BC Hydro Streetlights Information Management System (SLIMS).

We also receive and manage requests for new streetlights.

  • The street light's location,
  • Pole number (on the pole, at shoulder height),
