Regular meetings of the Board and Committees are open to the public.

When:  Typically, the Friday following the third Monday of each month @ 7:00 p.m.
Where: Regional District office – 4545 Lazelle Ave. Terrace, BC 
                1st floor boardroom unless otherwise noted.

How can I address or make a presentation to the Board?
Apply to be a Delegate online or contact the office for more assistance.  Delegates are usually given 10 minutes to speak with the Board near the beginning of regular meeting Agendas.
How do I get listed on the Board Agenda?

The Regular Board Agenda is finalized Friday morning one week prior to the Board Meeting. To be included on the Agenda, you must submit a Delegation Application and be prepared to provide:

    • contact information, including group affiliation, if applicable
    • the topic -the reason for your visit or presentation
    • a description of any action you want the Board to take
    • your presentation material which will be circulated to the Board in advance
    • Notation of  any audio/visual equipment you might need.
Is there any other way to have my concerns or ideas addressed by the Board?

Yes.  If you prefer, you can:

  1. Write a letter addressed to:
    "Chair and Board"  and send it to our mailing address at 300-4545 Lazelle Avenue, Terrace, BC, V8G 4E1 or,
  2. Send an Email attention to "Chair and Board" to: [email protected] to have your item included on the next agenda for consideration
What happens to my presentation or correspondence to the Board?

Presentations:  After your presentation, the Board will likely address it later in the meeting though sometimes it is dealt with immediately depending on subject. Potential actions by the Board include:

  • receiving it for information,
  • referring it to a Board Committee or Administration (staff),
  • issue a directive or decision they feel is appropriate

Correspondence:  All letters or emails addressed to "Chair and Board" are brought to their attention through the Board Agenda. Not all correspondence is acknowledged nor responded to.  This usually depends on how you worded your comments or suggestions and the nature of your message. 
Items that need to remain confidential the item must meet the requirements of the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act in order to be excluded from the public agenda. We consider the author's name and address relevant to the Board's consideration and will disclose this personal information.  Your email and phone number, if you include it, is not considered relevant so if you don't want that disclosed, please let us know.

What if I have a comment or concern and don’t want to attend the Board meeting or correspond with the Board?
Contact the appropriate Regional District department directly during regular working hours and pass along your ideas.
Concerns about policies, services or programs should be brought to the attention of the Board.
