Emergency Services provided in areas of our Regional District include 911 Service and Emergency Management. More details in the drop downs below! ⬇

Voyent Alert! is the RDKS alert system. Voyent Alert! sends messages about critical events, such as floods or wildfires. Residents can choose how they would like to receive alerts — either through a mobile app, email, text message or phone call.

You can also choose to receive alerts from any community that uses Voyent Alert!, so if you're traveling you'll still get alerts.

Registration for the service is FREE, simple and anonymous.  If you already have the app, you can register online to receive the alert type that suits you.

Do you prefer email, phone or text alerts? Click here to register online. If you need help to register, please call our office at 250-615-6100.

9-1-1 Service

9-1-1 is provided to parts of our Regional District through a contract with the Regional District of Fraser Fort George.

9-1-1 calls are first answered by Emergency Communications for British Columbia Inc., (“E-Comm”) who then transfers the caller to the RCMP or the Prince George Fire Department for our Fire Dispatch.

E-Comm is Kitimat-Stikine Regional District’s 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). This means E-Comm answers initial 9-1-1 calls and then transfers the call to the appropriate local public safety agency (police, fire or ambulance).

In BC, E-Comm is the largest 9-1-1 center and provides emergency communication services as the first point of contact for 9-1-1 callers in many regional districts across the province.
