Our Skeena Valley ESS Team was successful this year in applying for and receiving the UBCM Grant for Emergency Support Services Equipment and Training. With the grant we were able to send ten of our volunteers to the 2024 NESST conference, where they experienced beneficial training and gained valuable networking experience.
We were also able to upgrade our tech equipment, allowing our team to better assist our community as well as provide remote assistance to the Region during emergency events. Our team purchased six new laptops and headsets, three monitors and two printers. With this technology we can increase our response capacity and further help our community in the event of a disaster.
New signage was also purchased to help identify our reception center locations during activations.
