There is nothing quite like a fresh Christmas
Tree to bring a festive feel to your home but disposing of them can be a
hassle. The Regional District and City of Terrace are pleased to announce we
will be hosting our Annual Chipping for Charity event on January 2nd,
3rd, and 4th, between noon and 5:00 p.m.
As with most events being affected by the
pandemic, we must take adequate precautions to protect the health and safety of
all attendees. As a means of avoiding the formation of crowds and gathering, we
are asking the community to bring their Christmas Trees to the Thornhill
Transfer Station at 3016 Old Lakelse Lake Road. We will have plenty of room for
physical distancing while turning your tree in to compost materials. As an
additional precaution, we are asking that in lieu of donating non-perishable
food items, that cash donations be made at our zero-contact donation box. All
donations will be used to support local foodbanks.
