The Regional District Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS) will host a town hall
meeting at the Thornhill Fire Department on Wednesday July 7, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for residents affected by the June flooding event across several communities.
The RDKS will host the meeting, which will include representatives from
Emergency Management BC - speakers from the NW Regional Office
(Terrace); the Community Recovery Branch and the Disaster Financial
Assistance (DFA) Department.
The Manager, Provincial Disaster Psychosocial Team will also be in attendance from Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA).
The presenters will be able to explain the process of application to DFA and
share what may be available for those affected.
There will be ongoing support via the RDKS with a Community Recovery
Manager to support residents in several ways.
After the presentations, there will be a Question & Answer opportunity for those attending.
